Derivco/Quickfire – Durban, SA 2018 – Present  |  Integrations/Markets/Software Project Manager Level 2

  • Managed AGILE and SCRUM based large, complex, development projects and programmes utilising teams based in no less than 4 different time zones.
  • Ensured tie-in between AGILE/SCRUM based development methodology and traditional waterfall-based project management to facilitate the business’s executive level reporting and information requirements.
  • Ensured resources remained focused and committed to Project throughout its life cycle.

  • Managed concurrent medium to large complex projects across multinational teams and time zones whilst ensuring zero negative effect to business profit.
  • Ensured specialist personnel remained focused throughout the project lifecycle whilst managing multiple streams of concurrent work.
  • In addition to the Project Management role, I assumed the role as the operational support manager to a live data centre and casino operator to ensure all SLAs were met.
  • Managed successful business-critical projects with significantly shortened delivery timelines, with teams located over 4 separate time zones, to ensure growth in highly profitable geographical locations.
  • Ensure that the domain knowledge, of a highly complex system, was disseminated, and retained, amongst a growing IT team using briefings and learning packs as part of a multipronged approach in conjunction with the Infrastructure Manager.

  • Led key product development based on customer requirements to facilitate delivery of end product, whilst liaising with numerous coating and textile laboratories to ensure that the generated product met the needs of the customer.

British Armed Forces – UK/Germany/Afghanistan 2011 – 2015  |  Company Operations Officer (Captain)

  • Managed a broad portfolio of responsibilities that required a high degree of efficiency, strict prioritisation, effective delegation and diplomacy ensuring all projects were completed in line with the requirements of both the higher management and the broader Military leadership.
  • Organised and led numerous overseas training exercises and projects that involved over £700k in fund management, which received business wide recognition as the most successful training exercises in 2012 and 2013, which set the standard to how financial grants are now awarded to other branches within the company.
  • Produced accurate, defined and detailed information both up to higher management and down to the individual which instilled a sense of ownership in the individual’s career for the personnel and an established an effective base for higher management to make informed decisions on their career/promotion prospects.
  • Established a programme of briefings and mentoring support to provide advice on Equality and Diversity (E&D) to a combined military and civilian workforce of more than 500 personnel.  This improved the awareness of E&D this streamlined the processes associated with the implementation of the E&D programme.
  • Translated effective direction from customers to industry subject matter experts that ensured the required tasks were met with the minimum amount of risk carried by either the customer or the company and an end state which met the initial direction.
