06/02/22 – In Feb 2007 Number 1 Company Coldstream Guards embarked on a training exercise to the South African Combat Training School in Lohatla, South Africa.

There were fires, there were fights and there were a lot of burnt British soldiers in tow…

22/12/21 – The least interesting part of being a soldier, from an outsider’s perspective, is surely the monotony of day-to-day life.  People understand the warfighting, they see the ceremonial elements, but the bulk of life goes on behind locked gates.  I hope in some part this gives a glimpse of that part of life as a soldier…

08/12/21 – Not a lot of people knew, or believed, that I was actually a Queen’s Guard for some time.  As part of a dual role (Ceremonial and Light Infantry) Regiment I had the fortune to do both roles in war-fighting and as a part of the London District Ceremonial duties.
